Hello and welcome to the page where you learn a little about me and my blog!
My name is Blakely Phillips. I’m a Christ Follower, Writer, Pluviophile, Coffee Enthusiast, and Travel Addict.
I’m in high school and currently learning to love myself while working towards the dreams and goals God has planned for my life. I created this blog as an insight to my life and place to be able to share my writings, photographs, feelings, advice, ideas, and story.
The name of this blog is intentional and thought out. I would love to share with you the full understanding of it’s meaning. I believe it encompasses many aspects of my life and aspirations right now, and some that will hopefully apply to my future as well. Now, the story behind the creation of this blog:
a strong desire to travel.
Over the past two years I’ve fallen in love with the variety of cultures, languages, people, and places on our planet. I love every opportunity I’m blessed with to be able to travel, and I want to evolve that love into a career. But, to travel doesn’t always mean to visit far away places or any physical place at all. The word travel is defined as, “to make a journey”. In my life right now, I’m traveling and making a journey throughout my high school career; meeting new people, learning who I am and want to be, and facing and overcoming new situations. I, myself, define wanderlust as the point in my life where I’ll be able to travel not only through the social and personal aspect of life but the physical aspect as well. A.K.A. when I am able to make a career of writing and visiting places all over the world. This is how I came up with “Wanderlust in the Works”. My great desire to travel is in progress right now, but it’s also the blueprint to the life I want to one day live- it’s in the works.
My greatest hope for this blog is for it to bring a unique source of encouragement to the young generation and to be able to help them establish who they are and who they want to become all while inspiring them to make their dreams a reality.
Without further ado, let the blogging begin!
